OUR HISTORY
The National Freedom Party (NFP) is a South African political party. It was launched on 25 January 2011 by Zanele kaMagwaza-Msibi, former chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), along with other former IFP and ANC members. National Freedom Party believe within the context of Social Democracy. NFP firmly believe that transition to full political, economic and social emancipation of all South Africans would best be achieved through a gradual and controlled evolutionary process rather than violent revolutionary means.
In the 2011 municipal election, the NFP received 2.4% of the (644,917) votes cast in South Africa, and 10.4% of the votes cast in KwaZulu-Natal province. It won a majority of seats in the eDumbe Local Municipality and a plurality in Nongoma Local Municipality. NFP went to coalition with the ANC to govern Zululand District Municipality lead by Her excellency VZ Ka-Magwaza Msib as the District Mayor, Following the 2014 South African general election NFP obtained 1.57% which was 288,742 votes and we managed to secure six (6) seats at KwaZulu Natal Provincial Legislature and six(6) seats at National Assembly, the NFP’s Veronica Zanele Msibi was appointed to serve in the cabinet as Deputy Minister from 2014-2019.
Our Vision
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, to adhere to and implement the provisions thereof, and to strengthen our democracy. To promote, secure and motivate a society that is not only politically emancipated but also to ensure that, through empowerment and meaningful service delivery, substantive economic emancipation is achieved. To embrace and defend the core values of integrity, respect, justice, solidarity and self-discipline within the Party.
Our Aims & Objectives
Aims & Objectives It is the ideal of the Party to ensure that all South Africans be given the opportunity and means to achieve political and economic freedom through transparent and accountable democratic processes. – It is the objective of the Party to restore, retain and enhance the belief in a strong family unit with particular emphasis on the respect for differing cultural values and ethics of all our people. – It is the cornerstone of its policy that the Party undertakes through its members and structures, to introduce, develop, promote and initiate effective service delivery programs together with built in checks and balances to ensure a more meaningful and improved life for all our people. – It is a fundamental goal of the Party to introduce discipline, transparency and accountability into the governance of our nation and to ensure that the goals aspired to in this, and in the South African Constitution, be attained through disciplined implementation.
